We’re the Friends of Historic Centreville, a non-profit, all-volunteer, 501 c3 corporation. Centreville Day is our primary fund-raiser and the monies raised are used to support awareness, education, preservation and protection of the history and cultural resources in western Fairfax County, especially those in the Centreville Historic District and Historic Centreville Park.
We are sharing web space with our sister organization, the Historic Centreville Society (HCS). FHC is more of an advocacy organization with a particular focus of Historic Centreville Park and the Centreville Historic District. HCS is focused more specifically on education. Below is the FHC mission statement. See the HCS pages for more information about their mission.
Mission Statement: Being committed to the preservation and promotion of the resources of the Centreville Historic District and the conservation of its land and scenic values, we seek to advocate for the needs and future of the Centreville Historic District, to foster fundraising efforts and grants for preservation and restoration projects, and maintain a working relationship with the Historic Centreville Society, the Fairfax County History Commission and Fairfax County Agencies, to complement the efforts of all those working for the greater good of Centreville’s Historic District.
