The Historic Centreville Society holds four events each year. Presentations in March and September, a June picnic, and a holiday party in December.
Coming up Thursday, June 10 at 7 pm, a discussion with author Beth Sansbury about her book, Searching for Sully’s Enslaved. You might think of Sully as the home of the Lee family, but it was much more complex than that. Join Beth on her mission to discover and document the lives of the people who were enslaved here. Contact Paul Hancq at PaulHancq@aol.com to register for this virtual event hosted on Zoom.
Thank you to everyone who attended Eugenia Newberg’s presentation on the Jamesson family. If you would like to see the recorded video, please contact Paul Hancq at PaulHancq@aol.com.
Thank you everyone who attended Don Hackenson and Chuck Mauro’s talk on Mosby in Fauquier County in March. Don and Chuck’s stories about their own exploits writing the book were every bit as interesting as Mosby’s. See their talk recorded on Facebook on the Centreville Day Facebook page.
Sadly the June picnic for 2020 has been cancelled due to Covid-19. We hope to see everyone again in 2021!
We are making arrangements for a September 2020 event via Zoom.
